Nuvance / Northwell Health expands professional development for advanced practice providers
Richard Cassa, PA‑C, MPAS, MBA, Director, Norwalk/Yale PA Surgical Residency Program, inspires APPs through leadership, mentorship, and shared learning
He most recently co‑hosted the “APPs in Clinical Medicine” conference on Friday, September 26, 2025, a major event that brought together advanced practice providers for a day of connection and engagement across the system.
On the experience, he shared:
“Honored to have Co-directed a CME course tailored for advanced practice professionals- and what an incredible experience it was! This course brought together APP’s from across disciplines to engage in high impact lectures, case-based discussions, and collaborative learning focused on advancing clinical excellence and team-based care.
Huge thanks to our faculty, attendees, and planning team for making this event a success. Proud to be a part of a community that’s committed to lifelong learning and elevating the role of APPs in healthcare.“
Just the next day, Rich spoke at Northwell Health’s Center for Advanced Providers’ Advanced Clinical Provider Symposium on September 27, 2025, hosted at Hofstra School of Medicine.
Here’s what he had to say about that:
“This past weekend, I had the privilege of speaking at the Northwell Health Advanced Clinical Provider symposium, joining an inspiring group of leaders and clinicians dedicated to advancing the role of ACPs in healthcare.

It was an incredible opportunity to share insights, exchange ideas, and connect with colleagues who are passionate about clinical excellence, education, and innovation in patient care. Events like this remind us of the power of collaboration and continued learning and shaping the future of medicine.”
Rich’s presence at these back‑to‑back events reflects his influence as both a clinician educator and a thought leader across Nuvance / Northwell Health. His work with the Teaching Academy allows him to expand APP learning opportunities, build connections across specialties, and support the development of strong clinician‑educators across the system.
